Construction work in August
Construction work in and around the future Parramatta metro station site will be ongoing throughout August.
Work to remove Sydney Metro owned buildings on Church Street is complete with remaining buildings on Macquarie
and George Streets to be removed by early August.
As the project moves into construction phase, GLC will occupy the western side of the site to commence site
establishment and archaeological investigations. Site investigations will continue to prepare the site for station
excavation later in the year. Delta will continue to occupy the eastern side until late 2022 to complete ongoing
archaeological investigations. Please see map overleaf for the site layout and work locations.

Out-of-hours work
Work to modify existing underground electrical services in Church Street, Macquarie Street and Horwood Place will
be undertaken between 6pm Saturday 30 July and 7am Monday 1 August 2022. This will involve opening existing
electrical pits on footpaths at the locations shown on the map over the page, disconnecting and removing redundant
cables and connecting new cables to the local electricity network.
Access to footpaths will be maintained and signage will guide pedestrians around work areas. There will be some
temporary power interruptions during the cable work. Endeavour Energy will notify affected businesses in advance
with a separate notification.
Two large excavators will be removed from site during the week commencing Monday 15 August between 8pm and
5am. This is in line with Road Occupancy Licence requirements and Transport for NSW requirements for the
movement of oversized vehicles.
Work to remove the façade of the Sydney Metro owned building at 41 George Street will start in the next week. Most
of this will be done during standard construction hours but some work may need to be undertaken on Sunday 31
July between 8am and 6pm.

Standard construction hours work
Our standard construction hours are Mondays to Fridays 7am to 6pm and Saturdays 8am to 6pm.
During standard construction hours, work will include:
• Completing demolition work and removing building materials from site
• Removing scaffolding and installing fencing and signage

• Continuing investigations including archaeological, geotechnical and utility investigations, groundwater
monitoring and surveying
• Delivering and removing machinery and equipment to and from site.

What to expect:
• Some activities will generate noise and this will be minimised as much as possible
• Access to businesses will be maintained, unless arrangements are made with you in advance
• Parking may be temporarily restricted in some locations
• Traffic controllers and signage will be used to direct pedestrians and traffic around work areas
• Environmental measures are in place to mitigate construction impacts, including noise and vibration
monitoring and dust suppression.
