Sydney Metro will deliver Hunter Street Station in a first-of-its-kind model, to create a world-class transport hub, including the underground station, precinct, and the buildings above it.
The new station will be in the heart of Sydney’s central business district and become a transport hub with connections to light rail, train services at Wynyard the Sydney Metro City & Southwest station at Martin Place. Proposed underground walkways will allow for easy transit all the way from Martin Place to Barangaroo.
Sydney Metro is working with industry to maximise the placemaking opportunities in this critical area of Sydney’s CBD. Final plans for Hunter Street station are subject to ongoing engagement with industry and key stakeholders.
Sydney Metro has commenced planning for two over station developments at Hunter Street.
Scoping Reports for developments above Hunter Street Station on both the eastern and western sites have now been lodged with the Department of Planning and Environment.
