Project Overview
Transport for NSW is delivering improvements across the state to create vibrant, productive, liveable, and sustainable places that support community health, safety, and wellbeing. To promote future employment growth, support the local population now and into the future, and to improve connections across Greater Western Sydney, St Marys Station and precinct is being renewed.

Transport for NSW is continuing enabling work at St Marys Station to prepare the site for construction of Sydney Metro. This work includes the relocation of the existing lift and stairs at the southern entrance to the station.

Stair and lift relocation work*, Work in August will include:
• Installation of a new lift shaft to prepare for construction of Sydney Metro
• Upgrading drainage systems south of the station
• Installation and upgrading of electrical systems
• Spoil removal.

Signage, fencing and traffic control will be in place as required to assist pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists around our work areas. Access to St Marys Station will be maintained at all times during this work, which is due for completion in the last quarter of 2022. *This work will be carried out in line with the Conditions of Approval for Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport SSI 10051.

Temporary relocation of taxi rank
To enable construction activities to be undertaken safely, we will be required to temporarily relocate the taxi rank at St Marys Station on the end of Queen Street between Wednesday 17 August and Friday 19 August 2022 (pending approval).
The taxi rank will be temporarily relocated to Nariel Street between West Lane and Queen Street (see map overleaf). Signage will be in place to assist customers with these temporary changes.

Work inside our construction site will continue during standard construction hours:
• 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday; and
• 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Some work will be required to take place outside of standard construction hours. This work has been scheduled to take place during Sydney Trains trackwork periods when no trains are running, minimising disruptions to commuter services and improving the safety of our construction team and customers.

Minimising community impacts
We understand construction activities may cause disruption to our closest neighbours and every effort will be made to
minimise impacts where possible, including conducting on-site monitoring to ensure compliance with strict environmental
conditions relating to noise, vibration and dust management.
