Upcoming out-of-hours work to switch the traffic to the new Hickson Road alignment

The next Hickson Road alignment is now built and we expect the traffic will be switched to the new alignment overnight, on Wednesday 13 July (weather dependent).

The new alignment will open to vehicles when the out-of-hours traffic detour ends in the early hours of Thursday 14 July. The new alignment will remain with a 40 km speed limit with speed bumps in place. We caution road users to please take care while becoming familiar with the new road alignment.

Should the weather impact the traffic switch, it will take place overnight on either Thursday 14 July or Friday 15 July.

Demolition of the old Hickson Road

Following the traffic switch, work will begin to demolish the existing Hickson Road in order to install the new road layout for the station. It is expected the demolition will take around six weeks and the work will be noisy for approximately three weeks, weather dependent.
