The tunnelling contractor, Acciona Ferrovial Joint Venture (AFJV), is continuing site preparation and establishment work within and around the two construction sites at Burwood North.

Emergency work on Burwood Road

Please find details below of emergency work taking place along Burwood Road in the coming week to 5am on Monday 25 July 2022.

Burwood Road was reduced to one (1) lane in each direction between Parramatta Road and Burton Street during the school holidays to allow urgent sewer adjustment work to be carried out. This work was scheduled to finish on Sunday 17 July 2022 however due to the recent severe wet weather and unexpected additional work required, the work has been delayed and will continue for another week. The existing traffic arrangements on Burwood Road will remain in place until 5am Monday 25 July 2022.

There will be no access to Neichs Lane from Burwood Road during this period and all access to and from Neichs Lane will be via Parramatta Road.

Out-of-hours work

To ensure this urgent work can be completed and traffic impacts on the network are minimised, the sewer adjustment work on Burwood Road will be carried out continuously from 6pm on Saturday 16 July until 5am Monday 25 July.

 

Other work that will occur during standard construction hours (Monday to Friday 7am – 6pm and Saturday 8am – 6pm):

  • Demolition of Sydney Metro owned properties
  • Installation and removal of scaffolding around buildings
  • Ground levelling and excavation work
  • Piling for the acoustic shed foundations
  • Installation of new site offices and equipment
  • Utility relocation work along Burton Street including temporary parking impacts during work hours
