Good afternoon

I hope you are all managing to stay safe and dry in these wild rains. The team has been dealing with some impacts from the heavy weather on site and some of our scheduled surface work has had to be paused this week. Work continues underground on the structural formation of the station box and on the surface to install utilities and services.

Work for the week ahead includes:
• installation of services under Hickson Road, including water mains trenching and pipes, and high voltage conduits for utilities work
• waterproofing and backfilling on top of the station box
• installing structural steel, concrete and blockwork in the underground station box, including station platforms
• installing ventilation, cable trays and cabling in the northern shaft and within the tunnels between Barangaroo Station and Victoria Cross Station
Demolition and other noisy works (weather permitting)
Due to the inclement weather, planned works to demolish the existing station shoring (piles and capping beams) has been delayed and is likely to commence next week. Some of this work will be noisy involving heavy plant and equipment such as excavators with jackhammers. The works will take place within standard construction hours of 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 1pm on Saturday. There will be noise respite periods from 9:30am – 10:30am and 12:30pm – 13:30pm on Monday to Friday.

Out-of-hours works and overnight road closures (weather permitting)
Throughout March, there will be occasional out-of-hours works taking place to install services under Hickson Road, with associated overnight road closures between Towns Place and Barton Street. Next week there is still a high chance of rain and Hickson Road closures are unlikely. However, should the situation with the weather improve, Hickson Road will be closed between the hours of 9pm to 5am for two nights between Monday 7 February and Thursday 10 March (until 5am Friday 11 March). The exact timing of the road closures is weather dependent.

Traffic detour and changes to bus stops
When Hickson Road is closed between Towns Place and Barton Street during night works, a traffic detour will be in place via Towns Place, Dalgety Road, Kent Street and Napoleon Street. Bus services 311, 324 and 325 will be rerouted via this detour.
During the road closures there will be some changes to bus stops along Hickson Road and Towns Place, including temporary bus stops on Kent Street, Argyle Street, Argyle Place and Hickson Road at Walsh Bay. These bus stops will service the 311, 324 and 325 bus services. There will be signage in place to help passengers.
For more information about the overnight temporary changes to the bus routes 311, 324 and 325 on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 February, please visit Transport for NSW trip planner website.
